Qualifying Child Requirements
The qualification requirements remain the same under OBBB:
✅ Must Meet All Tests
- Age: Under 17 at end of tax year
- Relationship: Son, daughter, stepchild, foster child, sibling, or descendant
- Support: Did not provide over half their own support
- Residence: Lived with you more than half the year
- Dependent: Must be claimed as your dependent
- Citizenship: US citizen, national, or resident alien
💰 Income Limits (Phase-out)
- Single/HoH: Starts at $200,000 AGI
- Married Filing Jointly: Starts at $400,000 AGI
- Married Filing Separately: Starts at $200,000 AGI
- Phase-out rate: $50 per $1,000 over limit

• Two qualifying children (ages 8 and 12)
• Family AGI: $150,000 (under phase-out)
• Previous CTC: 2 × $2,000 = $4,000
